New Fine Art Wedding Albums | Linen Wedding Albums

Happy Friday Everyone! We are so excited about these albums :)  They are so gorgeous! As wedding photographers, we were extremely picky about choosing the company we would use to display our work. We’ve used a couple of different album companies over the years and we’ve finally found the perfect one. Simple, heirloom albums that tell the story of your wedding day. They are hand-crafted with a huge selection of cover options to choose from. I just love them all– natural linens (as shown below), japanese silks & soft leathers. You’ll have tons of upgrade options like a photo cameo on the front or simple debossing of your names & wedding date.

Over the years we’ve realized that there is nothing better than an actual print or album. Viewing your pictures on a screen just isn’t the same as flipping through a beautiful album. :) We want all of our couples to have one of these- it’s so important!

Friday Favorite | Nashville Newborn Photographers

Happy Friday everyone!

Ohhhhh goodness. I’m totally in love with this newborn session and this sweet family. Talk about baby fever! This sweet baby girl stole my heart. I told Courtney & George they were going to have to kick me out or I would have taken pictures of sweet Charlotte all day long ;)

I’m so glad they love these and can’t wait to see what they print for their walls! Newborn sessions are just so sweet. I love capturing a couple with their brand new baby. It’s such a crazy time in your life and so much is unknown and scary but when you look back on those pictures it’s a time in your life you never want to forget.

Friday Favorite | Our 5 year anniversary!

Happy Friday everyone!

5 years ago today I married the love of my life :) I can’t believe that was 5 years ago. Time has certainly flown by! It’s so fun to look back on that day and think about all that has happened in our lives since the day we got married. A fun 4 years of living in Charleston, a big move to Nashville, buying a house, being pregnant, a baby boy, a business together. Wow. We are so blessed. I just can’t imagine what the next 5 years will be like.

Dusty, thank you for being the most amazing husband. Your support and encouragement the past 5 years led us in a direction I never could have imagined. We run a business together. :)

And wow…. I never could have imagined the love I would have for this little boy and how he would change our hearts. Watching you as a dad has made me so incredibly proud and so excited for Davis that he has such a wonderful daddy. I love our little family!

Thank you for everything you do for us, for taking care of us and for making us laugh every single day. I love you!

x0,

Les

Now that we’re wedding photographers- it makes it even more incredible for us to look back on these pictures. When I look at these pictures I see a celebration. I see lots of laughter. It makes me so very happy to look at these incredible pictures of our day and remember how that day felt. Celebrating life is obviously at the core of who we are as individuals and as a couple. We are two people who truly celebrate our moments and memories together. My hope for us in the next 5, 10, 50 years is that we always have that attitude. That we instill in our children the ability to stop and smell the roses. As cliche as that sounds, it’s so true.

A look back at our wedding day. Photos by Climie & Co.

Check out my flip phone ;) haha!

Yes, this happened right before we left for pictures. I love my friends. Please look at me in the background running away haha.

Friday Favorite | Nashville Newborn Session

Happy Friday everyone!

A mother’s love.

There is nothing like it. On my birthday a few days ago my mom told me Happy Birthday and then said ‘now you understand how deep a mother’s love is’ and she’s right. I am forever changed by becoming a mother and so now when I’m in the presence of a new mom and documenting those precious moments with her newborn, I am reminded of the overwhelming love. It makes it so special for me to document those moments for a family. Moments like this:

I can’t wait to share more from this amazing newborn session with the Green family and precious little Charlotte Love! (How beautiful is her name?!) Stay tuned!

Many of you have probably seen this on facebook but I just love it :)

“We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of “starting a family.” “We’re taking a survey,” she says half-joking. “Do you think I should have a baby?”

“It will change your life,” I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral.

“I know,” she says, “no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations.”

But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes.

I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable.

I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper without asking, “What if that had been MY child?” That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her.

That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die.

I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub. That an urgent call of “Mom!” will cause her to drop a soufflé or her best crystal without a moments hesitation.

I feel that I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by motherhood. She might arrange for childcare, but one day she will be going into an important business meeting and she will think of her
baby’s sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right.

I want my daughter to know that every day decisions will no longer be routine. That a five year old boy’s desire to go to the men’s room rather than the women’s at McDonald’s will become a major dilemma. That right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming
children, issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that restroom.

However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother.

Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself.

That her life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child. That she would give herself up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years, not to accomplish her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs.

I want her to know that a cesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will become badges of honor.

My daughter’s relationship with her husband will change, but not in the way she thinks.

I wish she could understand how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who never hesitates to play with his child.

I think she should know that she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very unromantic.

I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving.

I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to ride a bike.

I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog or cat for the first time.

I want her to taste the joy that is so real it actually hurts.

My daughter’s quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes. “You’ll never regret it,” I finally say. Then I reached across the table, squeezed my daughter’s hand and offered a silent prayer for her, and for me, and for all the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this most wonderful of callings.
Please share this with a Mom that you know or all of your girlfriends who may someday be Moms. May you always have in your arms the one who is in your heart.”

Friday Favorite | Davis turns 1!

Happy Friday everyone! We’ve got a long weekend full of family sessions and a newborn session- so excited!

Our little boy turned 1 on Tuesday and we just can’t believe how quickly that happened. We are having so much fun with him at this age as he starts to show us his funny little personality. We had such a great time celebrating his 1st year with our family and friends last weekend so on his actual birthday we just spent some time together and celebrated by taking him out for some 1 year pictures. That’s how we celebrate around here ;) I am SO in love with these pictures and this little man.

Just a few of our favorites…
