Baby Bennett’s Newborn Session

Happy Friday everyone! We are on a roll around here getting through some portrait sessions. It’s busy season and we’re loving every second of it!

Please just sit down and enjoy sweet boy! All these newborn babies have been so fun to photograph lately and we have quite a few on our calendar for the next few months! We love newborn sessions. There is nothing like those first few days with your baby at home. It’s such a blur and SO very important to capture.

Bennett is absolutely precious and it was such an honor to take pictures for this sweet family. Carrie and I knew each other in college at UT so it’s been really fun to reconnect! She and her hubby live right down the street from us so we’re excited to hang out with them soon. You might remember Carrie & Nick from their maternity session we did in March. 🙂 We’re putting together a beautiful newborn session album with all of their favorites pictures. I can’t wait to see it all come together.

Strawberry picking adventure

Hello friends! I have ‘Strawberry Fields Forver’ in my head while going through these pictures 😉 My friend Meredith told me about a small local farm where you can go pick strawberries so Davis and I went out there this past Friday. I wasn’t sure if he would really care about it but he loved it! And this kid…his love for strawberries/blueberries/blackberries is unreal. Kid can inhale some fruit. We had such a great time. I know my mom is espeically going to love these pictures. When I was a little girl I had a little bouncy seat with strawberries all over it and she has many pictures that my dad took of me in that seat chowing down with strawberries all over my face.

I seriously can’t get enough of this child. He has me totally wrapped around his finger. Can’t believe he’s a big 2 year old now. Whew. I know I will treasure these pictures 🙂

Who wants to meet us for a strawberry picking photo shoot soon?! 🙂 Would be such a cute spot for a family session!

Also…check out those last 2 pictures haha! As a photographer, I really hate to ever ask a child to smile and you will never hear us telling a child to ‘Say cheese!’ You just get forced smiles…but lately we’ve been asking Davis to ‘Smile for MawMaw’ (he calls my mom that)…and we get this hilarious face and I love it. 🙂

Best of 2013 | Leslie & Dusty Photography

Hello friends! So…we’re still living in 2013 if you don’t mind 😉 With 3 weddings to finish and blog from last year, along with ‘engagement season’, we’re quite busy around here! We hope you enjoy a little peek back at the amazing year we had with some really incredible clients.

One of our hopes in this business is that we make it known how grateful we are to each and every client that comes our way. We don’t take it lightly that you’ve invited us to be an important part your celebrations. We’re flattered, honored and truly blessed to be your photographers. With the launch of our new website and business last year, we never could have imagined what would come our way in 2013. We met some pretty amazing goals last year and we can’t wait to see what this year has in store! God is so good 🙂

Thank you to all of our clients for trusting us with your memories! Here’s a look back at some of our favorites from 2013 (as well as a special sneak peek for a couple of clients!)…

Remember to follow us on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook to see more of our work (and tons of pictures of our cute kiddo!)

Friday Favorite | Our boy’s first haircut

Yup. We document everything. I know it’s part the fact that we’re first time parents and part that we’re photographers. It’s too important to us not to capture every tiny little milestone. And I have no shame in that 🙂 I know he’ll hate us for it for a while and then later he’ll love it.

You see- haircuts for boys in our family rarely happen. We’re more shaggy hair lovers than clean cut 😉 But the other day we met up with our friend Adrienne and her little boy Collier and I officially realized our child looked like a hippie. So off we went yesterday to get Davis a little trim. We went to a cute little kids’ salon in Franklin. It was a fun experience for sure but I’m thinking next time this momma might be cutting his hair instead. I’m too picky. We didn’t really get a great after shot of the new ‘do’. It’s too short in my opinion in the front but I know it will grow out…and probably very soon seeing how this little guy has a LOT of hair.

Happy Friday everyone!

Day in the Life session with the East family

Happy Good Friday everyone! 🙂 We’re excited for the Easter weekend but wishing the weather was going to be nicer!

We are so proud to share a recent Day in the Life session we did with the East Family today 🙂 This type of session is is near and dear our hearts and now that we have sweet little Davis in our lives we really see the importance of these pictures even more. As Davis nears his 1st birthday I find myself looking back on the past year and it is a total whirlwind. How in the world did this go by so quickly!? I remember this time last year feeling so ready for him to arrive and then all of a sudden he was here and he completely changed our lives.

It goes by so fast.

Everyone says it- don’t blink because it goes by so fast. And I truly didn’t understand that until we had a baby of our own. They are only tiny for so long and they change so quickly. All of these moments with him as a little one, watching him learn and discover things each day- it’s so important to capture this!

We were thrilled when the East family wanted to do a Day in the Life session with us. We did Avery’s 1st birthday pictures last year and had such a great time. She’s hilarious and not afraid of anything 🙂 I loved getting to hang out with this family again and just let Miss Avery do her thing.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Day in the Life Photography, here’s a little info!

What are Day in the Life sessions like?

These sessions are perfect for a family with small children. You’ve done the typical family session and you’re looking for something different. The unposed, playing with your children kind of pictures (although we do a lot of this in our regular family sessions) at your house with no rules. Children are encouraged to just play and be themselves and parents are encouraged to relax and just have fun with your kids! We stay in the background as much as possible and just capture your family as you are. No ironing the kids clothes, no bribing the kids to ‘smile at the camera’. These sessions typically take about 2-3 hours. We plan them around playtime, lunchtime/dinnertime and we focus on capturing your day to day life as a family. Reading stories, playing outside, eating together, bedtime & bathtime. All of those moments make up your real life and we believe they deserve to be captured. These sessions make perfect pictures for a gorgeous album of your family. Years down the road when the kids are off to school and you’re remembering the sweet time you had with them as babies, you will not regret investing in these pictures.
