Merry Christmas from The Walkers!

Happy Friday everyone! We’re in Atlanta visiting my family for Christmas and then headed back to Nashville on Christmas Eve. We’re so excited about our little boy’s first Christmas! I know he won’t remember this and Dusty thinks I’m crazy for wrapping gifts for an 8 month old…but I don’t care. I want him to see pictures of his first Christmas and we can at least teach him how to unopen gifts. I totally understand that he’ll love the paper more than anything but I just can’t help it. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from our family to yours!

A HUGE thank you to Chris & Adrienne Scott for our family pictures. 🙂

Friday Favorite | Random thoughts and a BIG announcement

No. I’m not pregnant. Moving on ;)…

A couple of random things on my mind today…

1. Our little boy is growing up so fast. I swear I’ll continue to say this for the rest of his life. All of you people that told me that it goes by too fast. You were right. I literally can’t keep up with all of the changes…and believe me I’m trying to. Our W The Family blog hasn’t been updated since October 9th – Davis’ 6 Month birthday.  SO much has happened since then. Maybe I’ll update this weekend…who knows! I just took his 7 month picture the other day… a mere 2 days before he turned 8 months old. And now I’m behind on the 8 month old picture. Ugh. Such is the life of a busy mom…and I’m a photographer… even I have to find the time to take pictures of my family. But Davis doesn’t slow down. He doesn’t stop growing or wait for me to find the time to document his cute chubby hands and how he sits there so sweetly sucking his thumb. All I can do is the best that I can do today. Some days I’m a perfect mom but a not so perfect wife, friend and business owner. Other days I have dinner ready, the house cleaned, spend quality time with my hubby, the business is booming and Davis is in the corner eating one of Bean’s bones off the floor. It is what it is. We can’t do it all and I am SO OK with that. I hope you are too 🙂

Some favorite recent pictures…

2. I am SO excited about Davis’ first Christmas. I know he won’t remember this but we’re still making it special. 🙂 It just warms up this house even more having him here to experience Christmas. I love getting him out of his crib in the morning and watching his eyes light up when we turn on the tree. 🙂 Sweet baby boy you’re going to love Christmas just like your parents. And we can’t wait to teach you all about it!

3. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TIME…. And this is such a tease but I just can’t wait to share the news. You know that curly-headed guy I call my husband? WELL he’s been shooting with me for a while now and we thought it was time we make it official. In January we will be retiring Leslie Walker Photography and launching as LESLIE & DUSTY PHOTOGRAPHY! We are SO excited to share all of the hard work we’ve put into this new business. You’re going to love it!

4. I hate ending on a sad note…but I also didn’t want to start the blog post on a sad note. I am sitting here just sick to my stomach over the senseless school shooting in Connecticut. I just can’t imagine what those families are going through. It’s unfathomable. I just lift them up in prayer. Something like this should never be a worry to parents when they send their children to school. 🙁 God bless that town.

Friday Favorite | Hanna & Rhee’s Daytona Beach Wedding

Happy Friday everyone!! Wow. It’s December. Where is the time going?! We are so very excited to share this GORGEOUS wedding today! Remember Hanna & Rhee? We shot their proposal and then their engagement pictures and finally their wedding in Daytona. We had such a great time. The wedding was very relaxed and intimate and so full of love. Hanna’s dad married them which was so sweet. The location wasn’t too shabby either 😉 Seriously…this home was unreal. We were on creative overload with all the gorgeous spots for pictures! Thank you to Hanna & Rhee and your families for allowing us to be a part of your big day! Enjoy 🙂
