Friday Favorite | The East Family

Happy Friday everyone!! It’s been a while since I’ve featured a family session so I’m excited to show these family pictures we took downtown of the East Family πŸ™‚ Little Miss Avery turned 1 not too long ago. She is so adorable and kept me on my toes πŸ™‚ I love how these turned out- very natural and totally candid. I love when parents just play with their kids during pictures- they turn out so sweet! All Avery wanted to do was crawl and she is not afraid of anything! We met at the Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville and then walked around some of the downtown streets for their session. We ended the night with some ice cream which made little Avery very happy.

Thank you guys so much for allowing me to take pictures of your adorable family! Check out some of my favorites:

Friday Favorite | Dow & Bethany get engaged

Happy Friday everyone! I’m really excited to share some pictures of when our friends Dow & Bethany got engaged πŸ™‚ Dow and Dusty grew up together and Dow was a groomsman in our wedding. We were so excited for him when he started dating Bethany. She changed his world immediately and it was so great to see him so happy. They are one of those couples- you know the Β ones where you just KNOW the second they start dating that they will be together forever.

When Dow told Dusty he was going to propose Dusty immediately said ‘well, you need us to take pictures?!’ Dow put so much thought into this perfect moment. I was really impressed!

I’ll let Dow explain how he and Bethany met and the importance of the pile of dirt and the stump…

“Dirt pile- The first time we ever talked to each other, we were on a mission trip in the Dominican Republic. For some reason, Bethany and I were chosen to go in the backyard of one of the sites and level out the backyard. There was a HUGE pile of dirt on one side of the yard and we basically had to move it to the other side using two shovels and a wheel barrow. They didn’t have any construction equipment so everything was done manually. Through our relationship, we’ve realized how special it is that God introduced us to each other that way. The dirt pile not only represents the first time we met, but we’ve related that dirt pile to many things that have happened in both of our lives and how in the end those things made us perfect for each other.

The stump- when we left the Dominican, Bethany wanted to bring something back to remember the trip. So she thought she’d make a mosaic out of some of the tile from one of the worksites we were on. So, a few of us brought back tile in different suitcases. You’re not allowed to bring stuff back from other countries so we put it in different suitcases just in case it got confiscated from one of our bags. Β I knew that would be an easy way to set up our first date if my tile made it back so I volunteered to take some of it back in mine – and that’s exactly what I did.Β  She never got around to making that mosaic so I got a piece of it a few months ago, broke it up, chiseled out a place for it in the top of the stump and fit it in the shape of the Dominican.Β  We plan to use it as a coffee table or something for the rest of our life.”

I mean…how sweet is that? πŸ™‚ Check out some of my favorites from their proposal…

Friday Favorite | Candice & Adam’s Nashville Wedding

Happy Friday everyone! My friend Candice has been patiently waiting for a sneak peek at her wedding photos πŸ™‚ Dusty and I had such a great time shooting Candice & Adam‘s wedding. It was quite an honor– they are friends of ours and Candice is also a portrait photographer. We had the best time at their wedding. I’m so glad we had a few minutes after the ceremony to get some pictures of them on the Pedestrian bridge downtown. The pictures from the bridge are some of my favorites from the entire day. Candice & Adam had an amazing 80s band and the pictures from their reception prove that! Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster kept the dance floor packed and we loved every second of it. Enjoy your sneek peak friends!

LOVE this cake topper πŸ™‚ That bride has a camera around her neck! Amazing πŸ™‚

Candice & Adam are excited to be The Stevens πŸ™‚
