Friday Favorite | 1 year ago…

Ok… I’ve always been a very sentimental person but becoming a mom has made me a gigantic mushball. I make no appologies though. So with that said…

1 year ago (as of tomorrow) we found out we were pregnant. I had been feeling pretty yucky and I remember Dusty saying ‘well, you should at least take a test’. Fine. I’ll take a test but I don’t think I’m pregnant. I don’t know why it took me so long for it to really sink in. Ummm I took 6 (yes 6!) pregnancy tests. This final one that clearly said ‘pregnant’ made it official and I was beyond excited. I remember calling to make an appointment with the doctor and them telling me they would see me in 4 weeks. 4 weeks?! How was I going to wait 4 weeks to find out for sure and more importantly, how was I going to keep my mouth shut for 4 weeks?!

Fast foward one year and we have this sweet boy who has changed our lives and rocked our worlds in the best way possible…

On a side note– there is a reason you hire a photographer to take pictures for you… haha let me just say it is NOT easy setting up the shot, getting Davis comfortable, entertaining him, making sure he doesn’t get attacked by bugs, trying to make him laugh, wiping the drool, making sure he doesn’t fall and hit his head, sweating because its 177 degrees AND taking the picture 😉 We did manage to get a few very cute shots of our little mohawk man…

{friday favorite} Our little assistant

Remember when we announced we were pregnant with this picture about a year ago?

This was the first baby item I bought and I just remember staring at it when it got here just imagining our little one wearing it. I couldn’t believe I was actually holding a onesie that our baby would be wearing. 1 year later…here he is and quite cute 🙂 Sweet baby Davis- will you be creative like your mama or all business like your dad? Only time will tell 🙂 I bet you’re tired of pictures by the time you’re 2 though haha. Love you so much!

{weddings} Amethyst & Bennett’s Scarritt Bennett Wedding

Hi everyone! I posted some of Amethyst’s bridal portraits that we did at Scarritt Bennett last Friday. Be sure to check those out! Dusty and I had a great time with this couple. We scheduled a first look with them before the ceremony and I’m so glad that we did– we had a lot of time for pictures of just the two of them. When we were done with their pictures a storm popped up and we had to do all of their wedding party pictures inside. It worked out perfect though! Amethyst was so laid back about everything and just enjoyed her day. Bennett was just happy to be marrying Amethyst. They read vows they had written for each other and it was so sweet. Thank you guys so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day!!

{friday favorite} Scarritt Bennett bridal portrait

Happy Friday everyone! Amethyst & Bennett are such a cute couple. I can’t wait to share pictures from their wedding day. They have been dating since their senior year of high school and they couldn’t be more adorable. We had such a great time with them. This bridal portrait was the first session I did after Davis was born and it was a great one to come back with! Scarritt Bennett is such a gorgeous church here in Nashville and many people hope to have their wedding here. Amethyst & Bennett were lucky enough to have their ceremony here and I can’t wait to shoot there again next week!

I really loved getting to know Amethyst. She is so laid back and fun to be around. And it didn’t hurt that shes gorgeous 🙂

Friday Favorite | Arrington Vineyards Proposal

Happy Friday everyone!! I was SO excited when Rhee asked that I take pictures of him proposing to Hanna. I have wanted to do this for so long! 🙂 The icing on the cake was the location…Arrington Vineyards– I just love this place so much. It’s gorgeous and so much fun. Hanna & Rhee go to Arrington all the time and they have a special spot– a swing on the top of the hill with the perfect view of the Vineyard. I met Rhee there the day before so we could get our plan ready. I needed to find a place to hide while he proposed and I also needed to be close enough to get a good, clear shot. I was so nervous beforehand– I felt like I was watching a best friend get engaged. They are such a sweet couple 🙂 It was so much fun and such an honor to be a part of such an exciting time. Thanks Hanna & Rhee and congrats to you guys! Dusty and I are really looking forward to your wedding in October!
