Happy Friday everyone! Let’s take a break from Baby W posts today shall we? Although, we are getting SO close! I think this baby will be here soon so we’ll keep everyone updated!

Today, I want to share pictures from Meagan & Kevin’s gorgeous Atlanta wedding!! Dusty and I had such a great time shooting this wedding. We both went to UT with Meagan so it was quite an honor to be her photographers- and so much fun to see all of our friends! Their ceremony was at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and the unbelievably gorgeous reception was at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. They couldn’t have picked a more amazing location for their reception. This hotel is unreal!

Happy Friday everyone! So, I don’t know if ‘maternity leave’ actually exists when you run your own business but I am taking some time off! I’m almost done with Meagan & Kevin’s gorgeous Atlanta wedding (which I’ll post very soon!) and then after that is done, I’m taking some time off. Time to be with Dusty in our last days as just the two of us, then spending quality time with our little one once we’re home. I’ll be available through email if you need me (unless I’m in labor! ) I’m taking April off and then have some portrait sessions booked for May. We’re back at it again with 3 weddings in June and we’re really looking forward to wedding season! This summer is booking quickly so if you’re trying to get family pictures done please contact me soon!

In the mean time… I stare at these bags at the door packed and ready for the hospital just wondering when our little one will decide to arrive! I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

I just can’t wait for he/she to be here and to know which one of these hats they will be wearing!

Happy Friday everyone! I can’t believe it- the nursery is complete! I’m just waiting on a print from our maternity session that we’ll frame but that’s it! I have never been more proud of a room in my life It turned out even better than I imagined! A lot of hard work went into making this the perfect room for our little one! My goals were to mix vintage & modern, no ‘baby related’ theme, to make it functional and cozy. I think we accomplished that! We re-purposed a lot of things and bought some new items as well. Etsy was my go-to for art!

Introducing… Baby W’s nursery!…

I posted a sneak peek of the nursery a while back here. Make sure to check that out so you can see the before pictures! We made the ‘You are loved always’ sign and it was probably the first thing I knew I wanted in the room for sure. Other than that, I knew we wanted a yellow dresser so we used an old one that my mom gave us and painted it. Everything else was picked based on the sign & dresser

My Aunt Barbara gave me this owl from West Elm for Christmas It’s perfect in the room. Don’t worry– that empty frame won’t be for long. We’ll frame one of our maternity pictures in there soon!

Mr. Owl from Pier 1. I had to have him.

This side table was lovingly made by Dusty! We got an old log out of his parents’ yard, let it dry out, took off all the bark and sanded it and then painted a coat of polyurethane to seal it. I love it!

I wanted an ottoman but not one that matched the chair. I was really trying to stay away from things matching too much. Found this from Target and it’s perfect & light so it can be moved around easily.

I am SO happy with the way the bedding turned out. I ordered it from this Etsy store. She was so fantastic to work with! Here is a close up of the crib skirt fabric:

Introducing little baby Ruby! I’m loving all these newborn sessions that I’ve done recently! It just makes me more and more excited for little baby Walker to be here soon– our due date is 1 month from today!

It was such an honor to capture this exciting time for Ruby and her parents. Dusty grew up with Joey so it was fun when we realized they were in our birth class at Williamson Medical Center. We met for 5 weeks every Tuesday night and it was nice to have another couple to laugh with through all the awkwardness of birth class! I really enjoyed getting to know Jackie & Joey and was so excited when they asked me to take Ruby’s newborn pictures! She is so precious and was such a great baby model! I’m still going through these pictures but just had to share a few!

Today’s post is a little letter to Baby W as I pause to recognize the significance of baby laundry.

Dear Baby W,

You’re almost here! I can’t believe how fast this is going but I’m sure the next few weeks will be filled with anxiety and much anticipation as we wait to see when you’ll arrive! I’ve been in prep mode for a few months now but the nesting phase is certainly kicking in. I just want everything to be done and perfect so your daddy and I can relax as much as possible for the next few weeks. The other night I decided to wash some of your clothes and blankets. And as I sat on our bed folding very tiny laundry the significance of that moment was not lost on me. I have never felt such peace and excitement in doing laundry. I can’t wait to see you wrapped up in those tiny clothes and blankets. We’re so excited to know if you’re a boy or girl and I know the rest of our friends and family are dying to know too! Either way, you are loved beyond what you can even imagine. You were having a little party underneath my ribs yesterday. It didn’t feel too good but I understand you’re running out of room in there and I just took it as another sign that you’re growing and healthy. We have so much planned for your life and you’re not even here yet. I’m so thankful for you and the ways you’ve already changed our lives.
